Market Garden Brewery’s 1000th Brew!

Celebrating our 1000th brew at the Market Garden Brewpub on W. 25th St., Market Garden Brewery releases B-1000 Terminator, a rich and roasted Barrel Aged Imperial Stout accented with dark fruit and caramel notes. The extremely limited release aged in Middle West Spirits OYO Bourbon barrels will be released on draft on draft and in 1-liter bottles at the Ohio City brewpub TODAY, June 16th. A limited number of 1/6 barrel kegs will be distributed to fine draft locations throughout the Cleveland area.

To celebrate this feat, a “more is more” approach was taken to brew a huge imperial stout. Six malts and a double mash gives a rich, roasted, chocolatey with underlying dark fruit and caramel notes. These characteristics are intensified by homemade dark candy sugar. After fermentation, half of the batch was put into OYO Bourbon barrels from Middle West Spirits while the other half was infused with cocoa nibs. After three months of aging these two were remarried resulting in a beer that is complex but not complicated, thick and rich but not cloying. It does not deviate from the Market Garden Brewery philosophy that drove the 999 batches that came before “Balance is the Key” and “Beer for People”!

Market Garden Brewmaster, Andy Tveekrem, has spearheaded the award-winning operation at Market Garden since its inception in 2011. “To me, the impressive part of this feat is to think that Andy has operated and overseen roughly 8000 batches of beer just here in Ohio City in his career,” says Co-owner, Mike Foran. “What a testament to what he has done for our Cleveland brewing industry over the years…and to how he continues to innovate and inspire innovation in his team today.” Andy climbed to become Brewmaster at Great Lakes Brewing Company before venturing to Dogfish Head to spend 5 years as brewmaster for one of the largest craft brewing operations in the country.

“Most importantly, it’s proof that the secret to longevity in brewing, regardless of trend or eras of expansion or consolidation has and will always be: solid, quality-focused brewing principles…
Andy’s cherished principles.”

B-1000 Terminator is, at its heart, a thank you to the dedicated craft beer community found in Cleveland, OH. Market Garden extends an invitation to all to taste time-honored brewing practices blended with gratitude for the fans that have allowed the brewery to reach this delicious milestone!
